Yesterday, I was showing my mom around my craft room, explaining the various printers and cutters. She was curious, so I showed her a mug design I was working on.
In my eagerness to show her just how easy it is to print and press, I forgot to mirror the design. Total rookie mistake, but I’m sure it won’t be the last time I make it.
After making a second, perfect mug, I accidentally chipped it trying to catch her when she started to fall.
(She’s okay, thankfully — just a scary moment.)
And of course, it was the good mug that broke.
It hit me later: Sometimes you’re the windshield. Sometimes you’re the mug.
And sometimes — you’re both at the same time.
Making things — and living — means accepting the chips along the way. Loving the process, not just the perfect results.
